Your Local Recycling Centres at Bidston, Clatterbridge and West Kirby are now operating on their winter opening hours.

Wirral Council is working closely in partnership with other councils across the Liverpool City Region (LCR), as well as Merseyside Recycling & Waste Authority (MRWA), to introduce new weekly food waste collections to much of the region.

The next step for Wirral Council appointing a contractor to operate its Recycling, Waste and Street Cleansing service from August 2027 has been reached today with the publishing of ‘Invitation to Tender’ documents.

Wirral has experienced snow and icy weather conditions, and for some areas, the impacts continue due to ongoing freezing conditions.

The Met Office has weather warnings in place with expected snow and ice over the weekend, Saturday 4 January and Sunday 5 January.
