At the next meeting of the Environment, Climate Emergency and Transport Committee, members will consider an update on the council’s new five-year Waste and Street Cleansing Strategy – entitled ‘Rethinking Waste: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recover 2025-2030’.

The new subscription period for kerbside garden waste collections runs from 1 June 2025 to 31 May 2026.

Wirral has experienced snow and icy weather conditions, and for some areas, the impacts continue due to ongoing freezing conditions.

The Met Office has weather warnings in place with expected snow and ice over the weekend, Saturday 4 January and Sunday 5 January.

Residents in the three EVOLVE Wirral areas joined representatives from the council, Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service and other partners in taking part in Environmental Action Days.
