The Met Office has weather warnings in place with expected snow and ice over the weekend, Saturday 4 January and Sunday 5 January.
Outbreaks of snow are expected on Saturday night, starting off in Cheshire, and then milder air which could form ice expected on Sunday morning. Merseyside (including Wirral) and Cheshire are amongst the areas most at risk of exposure to these elements, which may continue into the beginning of next week (Monday 7 January).
Gritting
Crews have been out for the past two nights and will continue to be on standby 24/7 as the increased colder weather sweeps in.
Bins
There are no scheduled collections over the weekend however, street cleansing operations will continue, albeit with caution.
If the weather conditions carry on into next week, the council will work with it's waste contractor, Biffa, to respond to any impacts.
