Foster care is at the heart of our communities, enabling children to stay local, close to everything that is familiar to them. This Foster Care Fortnight we want to celebrate all that the fostering community does to ensure children are cared for and supported to thrive.
Gareth and Wendy have been fostering for nearly nine years. Already parents themselves, the couple wanted to foster as their two sons had grown up and they had room to spare.
Wirral Council’s foster families have enjoyed a fun filled activity morning at Birkenhead Park. The event was full of chocolate, easter arts and crafts, games and more. It was an opportunity for foster carers and children who are looked after to connect, support each other and swap stories.
Children across Wirral will be able to enjoy a huge range of activities from graffiti art workshops to sports activities to cookery sessions this Easter.
