Jobs and Careers Fair to help young people looking for work

A Jobs and Careers Fair aimed at helping young people aged 16-25 get a foothold in the workplace is being held at the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton on Wednesday 5 March, from 1 – 5pm.

The event will feature a range of employers from across industries showcasing a mix of entry level roles, training opportunities, and careers support. 

It is funded by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, through the city region’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) allocation

The Fair is a chance to find out about jobs, apprenticeships and work experience, learn more about further education for 16+, discover new career paths, apply for entry level roles or get careers advice including CV and application tips.

Organised by Wirral Council this Launchpad Jobs and Careers Fair is specifically for young people aged 16-25, including recent school leavers. The Fair will help those looking for entry level opportunities or further education, or who like the idea of learning on the job – there’s a wide range of options to discover.

Leader of Wirral Council, Cllr Paul Stuart, said: 

If you or someone you know is looking to enter the world of work, this is a fantastic opportunity to explore the available job and training options.

Getting started in your working life can be daunting, but the Launchpad Jobs and Careers Fair offers a chance to learn about jobs, careers, and training from experts who can guide you towards securing that dream job.

Liverpool City Region Combined Authority Cabinet Member for Business, Investment and Trade, Councillor Mike Wharton, said: 

This is a tremendous chance for any young person to find out about the wide range of jobs and training opportunities available to them and to access careers advice if they haven’t quite decided what is right for them. I’d encourage any young person who is thinking about their future working life to get down to the Floral Pavilion for this fantastic event.

There will be a huge variety employers and training providers across a wide a wide range of industries from construction and banking to early years and the armed forces. 

Already confirmed attendees include, Wirral Met, Royal Navy, Barclays, HMRC, United Utilities, British Army, Busy Bees Nurseries, Home Office, Rocket Training and many more.

Rocket Training: “We provide a study programme and work experience to 16-18 year olds, up to 25 with an EHCP in and around the areas of Liverpool and the Wirral. We have a base in Kensington, Liverpool and New Ferry, Wirral. Courses provided are: business administration, customer service, construction, motor vehicle engineering, warehousing, health and social care, hair and beauty, employability and maths and English.”
