Construction has officially started on the next phase of homes at Wirral Waters, marking another significant milestone in the transformation of the Northbank neighbourhood.
A range of pieces created by learners who have taken part in courses delivered by Wirral Council’s Lifelong Learning Service are on display for the public.
A £2 million investment in Birkenhead Park has been approved by Wirral Council’s Economy, Regeneration and Housing (ERH) Committee, marking a significant step forward in the borough’s ambition to secure UNESCO World Heritage Site status.
Councillors are set to consider proposals for a highways and public realm improvement scheme in New Ferry when the Environment, Climate Emergency and Transport Committee meets on 8 July.
Events will take place in some of Wirral’s most popular and scenic spaces and include a sunset walk to Hilbre Island, a teddy bears treasure hunt, wildlife spotting, beach cleans, a sandcastle building competition, crown green bowls and more.
The park has been selected to celebrate the United Kingdom’s globally significant international industrial heritage to form a trail for enthusiasts to explore.
Wirral Council’s leader has welcomed approval of plans for a major new development at Wirral Waters saying it “signifies that Wirral is open for business”.
“Such actions could have deadly consequences – the equipment is there so that anyone can literally throw someone a lifeline should they get themselves into difficulty in the water."
With warm weather set to continue, residents across Wirral are being encouraged to enjoy the sunshine while taking a few simple steps to stay safe and well.
The flag-raising ceremony highlighted Wirral Council’s ongoing recognition of the dedication and sacrifice of those who have served and continue to serve in the Armed Forces.
