Following the launch of Wirral’s Local List in December, the first 33 historic buildings, structures and landmarks are now registered for final consideration – and time is running out for people to put forward places of significance that they think should be considered for inclusion before nominations close on 30th April.
Wirral is set to benefit from a further £2 million of UK Shared Prosperity Funding (UKSPF) as part of a transition year, following agreement by members at Wirral Council’s Economy, Regeneration and Housing Committee on 12th March.
Wirral Council has approved plans to build the new 4,300 sq ft waterfront store, on the corner of Dock Road and Duke Street, next door to Peel Waters’ award-winning £130m Millers Quay residential development.
The green light has been given for the appointment of a contractor to carry out pre-construction services to move forward the refurbishment of the unit at 1 Princes Pavement next to the bus station and provide a new Market Hall for Birkenhead.
Major regeneration projects are being updated and advanced, workers are on site and spades are in the ground as Wirral presses ahead with one of the UK’s largest regeneration programmes.
Birkenhead Market’s covered outdoor space will be getting some colour just in time for Spring, with local artists set to make their mark as part of a new Art Jam event.
