From April 1st 2026, it will be mandatory for all councils in the country to collect food waste from households separately to other bin collections.

More than £7 million could be invested on improving Wirral’s roads, footways and bridges in 2025-26 under plans which will be discussed at the next meeting of the Environment, Climate Emergency and Transport Committee.

The £20m agreed by the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government for 2024-25 will also be supplemented by further financial support from the government of £7.5m in 2025-26.
