A project to develop and showcase writing talent from within Wirral’s racial minority communities is set to start at Birkenhead Central Library in April.
The WYP is an incredible opportunity for 11 local young people to play a key role in shaping the future of Wirral, but you must apply soon as the deadline for nominations is this Sunday, April 3rd.
Birkenhead Priory has secured £11,600 in funding from the Association of Independent Museums and the National Lottery Heritage Fund to develop an interactive, digital learning resource. This will be carried out in collaboration with schools and religious communities across Wirral and the Liverpool City Region.
As part of the budget savings adopted by Full Council on 28th February, the budget was removed for certain libraries, golf courses and a Leisure Centre and, as a result, from 1st April these will be temporarily closed. (Some libraries will remain open until 31st October).
Wirral Council’s leader has laid out an ambitious vision for the future of the borough which will focus on ensuring regeneration works for all communities.
