Support for SEND Families This Summer: Drop-In Sessions Aim to Ease Holiday Stress

As the summer holidays approach, parents and carers of children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), may find the season brings added pressure and uncertainty. With routines disrupted and the transition to a new school year on the horizon, anxiety levels can rise for both children and their caregivers.

To help ease the strain, Wirral’s Assistant Educational Psychologists are offering a series of supportive drop-in sessions at Family Hubs. These informal meet-ups offer a chance for parents and carers to talk through concerns, get practical advice, and feel less alone during what can be a challenging time.

Families will be able to access a range of support and advice including:

  •  Managing behaviours at home
  • Supporting a child who is worried or anxious
  • Promoting positive relationships in the family
  • Planning the summer break
  • Preparing for the transitions back to school

This is a great chance to have a one -to-one session with one of our AEPs and get support during the school holidays.
