The Liscard Summer Festival returns this Saturday (12 July) and promises a bumper programme including, live music, street food stalls, farmers market, arts and crafts, family activities, and fairground rides.

Councillor Mark Skillicorn, Chair of Wirral Council’s Economy, Regeneration & Housing Committee, said:

Liscard Summer Festival is great opportunity for the whole community to come together and have a good time, while supporting lots of local businesses and organisations. Best of all, it’s right on the doorstep and with such a fantastic forecast for the day, I’m sure the atmosphere will be as sunny as the weather.

Traffic-free Liscard Way will host a Farmers Market with fresh local produce, along with street food stalls selling tasty treats including artisan toasties from Cheese Meets Toast and some exotic flavours from Devina’s Mauritian kitchen.

Complementing the food offering will be arts and craft stalls, community information stands and activities and fairground games to keep the little ones entertained.

The Cherry Tree Centre Shopping Centre will be the stage for live music and other performers showcasing local talent throughout the day, as well as facepainting, activities by local charity Stick n Step, and FREE bicycle security marking by Merseyside Police.

The Liscard Summer Festival has been organised by the Liscard Together Partnership, a group made up of local businesses, community organisations and the Council, working together to help make Liscard a more welcoming, vibrant, safer and greener place.

Dominic McKenzie, Chair of the Liscard Together Partnership, said:

This weekend's Liscard Summer Festival will see local residents come together to celebrate all that is great about the local community.  Liscard is a vibrant town, full of colour and character, and the festival will provide an opportunity to recognise and enjoy this.  As Chair of the Liscard Together Partnership Board I am excited for the future of the town, particularly with the imminent investment of government funding, and I am very grateful to the people who have worked so hard to organise this weekend's event.  The sun is promising to shine, and I am sure a good time will be had by all!

The Liscard Summer Festival takes place on Saturday 12 July from 11:00am - 4.00pm with FREE entry for all.
