5 things to do in New Brighton when you visit the Youth Market
Up to 30 of Wirral’s brightest young entrepreneurs will be showcasing their wares at the borough’s second ever Youth Market in New Brighton this Saturday. Expect everything from fashion, art and crafts, to tasty treats. There will also be live music throughout the day, face-painting and a unique live art installation from local artist Kate Bigley.
Here are five things you can do to make the most of your visit:
1. The area around the Victoria Quarter is renowned for its street art. There are dozens of pieces created by local and international artists, all located within an easy walking distance of each other. Expect murals of giants dogs and lifeguards, to Star Wars characters and prowling bears!
2. Who doesn’t love a visit to the seaside? You can build a sandcastle on New Brighton beach or go crabbing at the Marine Lake... and if you work up an appetite, why not grab yourself a bag of chips or ice-cream along Marine Promenade?
3. When you’re happy you’ve picked up enough bargains at the Youth Market, make sure you check out some of the independent shops, cafés and galleries in New Brighton. Rockpoint Records is a great place to hang out and the Bow-Legged Beagle and Smugglers Cave are good places to take the weight off your feet.
4. Some of Wirral’s best views can be found in New Brighton. Go for a walk around the Marine Lake and take a selfie in front of the lighthouse, or even just stroll along the promenade and enjoy the fantastic views across the Mersey to Liverpool.
5. Make a day of it! Did you know that Fort Perch Rock has two ‘Escape the Fort’ escape rooms and Championship Adventure Golf has two mini-golf courses? The Floral Pavilion theatre is another must-visit in New Brighton and kids will love Bubbles World of Play.
