Organisers of this year’s Borough of Culture programme for Wirral never promised residents and visitors the Earth but – in a manner of speaking – that is just what they are delivering.

Some council areas will shut down, with others offering limited opening hours, over the festive period meaning that some services will be unavailable at that time
Children from local schools, The Hive Youth Zone and Seacombe Children’s Centre were invited back to Wirral’s Eureka! Science + Discovery to see how their ideas were brought to life at the popular visitor attraction.
Efforts by a Birkenhead-based voluntary group to preserve and improve the Flaybrick Memorial Gardens have been recognised with The King’s Award for Voluntary Service.
