Wirral Walking Festival

With temperatures on the rise and longer, brighter days here, there’s no better time to head outdoors and make the most of Wirral’s stunning landscapes.

Whether you’re looking for a gentle wander, a chance to meet new people, or an opportunity to discover something new about the area, Wirral Walking Festival has something for everyone.

The month-long festival, delivered by the Active Wirral Wellbeing Team, is now entering its final week. Throughout May, guided walks have showcased the very best of the borough - from coastal paths and country parks to historic villages and green urban spaces. There is still time to get involved and experience the rich natural beauty and fascinating heritage the peninsula has to offer.

All walks are completely free to attend and are designed to be inclusive, suitable for all ages and abilities. Many routes are accessible for those with limited mobility, ensuring that as many people as possible can take part.

Fiona Hanik, Wirral Walking Festival Co-ordinator, said: “I just want to say thank you to all those who have taken time to organise walks. Without them, there would be no walking festival.

“It has been great because we have had such a variety of walks this year. We’ve had a lot of ranger-led walks, various groups and it’s nice because we’ve had different levels and abilities.”
