Shaping services together: join Wirral’s Family Hub Parent Carer Panel
Looking to meet other parents, share your views, and help shape the future of family support in Wirral? The Family Hub Parent Carer Panel could be just what you’re looking for!
Wirral’s Family Hub Parent Carer Panel is a welcoming, friendly group made up of mums, dads, carers and grandparents from all walks of life. What brings them together? A shared goal of making services better for local families. Whether you’ve accessed support through a Family Hub, used services for children with SEND, or just want to make sure your voice is heard, your opinion matters.
What is a Parent Carer Panel?
Think of it as a cuppa and a chat with purpose. The panel meets once a month in a local Family Hub across Wirral, and it’s a chance to speak openly with other parents and the Family Hubs team about what’s working, what’s missing, and what could be better. It’s all about real experiences, honest feedback and practical ideas. Your ideas can help shape services for families now and in the future!
The sessions are relaxed and informal, you can come on your own or bring the kids, pop along whenever you can, and get as involved as you like. Everyone’s voice is welcome.

“We’re not just listened to; we’re involved in everything”
Jacinthe, a Wirral mum of a 19-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy with SEND, has been part of the Parent Carer Panel since it launched over a year ago. She first joined after struggling to find the information she needed as a parent.
Coming to the Parent Carer Panels is a chance to give opinions, opinions that matter because I’m a parent in the area using the services. It’s laid back and not strict, so I can fit it around family life. I don’t have to come to every meeting if I can’t make it.
Jacinthe has been involved in some big projects, including the launch of the Family Toolbox website. She was part of the online testing team and helped make sure the website made sense from a parent’s point of view before it launched.
We get to see things before they go public, and the Family Hubs team really involve us. Even changing a sentence can make a difference: if I don’t understand it, chances are other parents won’t either.
Everything we feed back is heard and used by the team. We are valued, and our opinions are valued. We see the whole process from start to finish. And really, all you have to do is think: what would I want for my family?
But Jacinthe says the panel needs more voices:
We need more people because we don’t all have the same opinions. We don’t all have the same experiences or backgrounds. If something doesn’t make sense to you, come and tell us! You’ll get so much out of it, not just for you and your family, but for other families too.
Come and get involved!
Whether you’re a new parent, a carer, or someone who’s used family services before, your voice matters. Help us build a better future for families across Wirral.
