Roarsome time had by foster families at annual summer fun day
Foster families gathered at Birkenhead Park for a fun-packed afternoon of games, music, animal encounters and even a special visit from a T-Rex!
Organised to provide a space for Wirral Council foster carers and children to connect, families enjoyed sharing experiences and having fun meeting new and existing friends.
This event is just one example of how the council works with foster families to ensure they feel supported and valued. Cllr Chris Carubia, Vice Chair for Children Education and Families, attended the event and said:
For people thinking about fostering who are not sure what’s involved, these kinds of events are brilliant because you can come along, speak to people and they’ll tell you exactly how it works. Every child is different, and every foster parent is different, but the one consistency is that every child needs a loving home.
Wirral Council is part of Foster4, a collaborative fostering recruitment hub in the Northwest. Foster4 is the first point of contact for prospective foster carers and provides a wealth of information about the recruitment process. If you have been considering fostering, visit the Foster4 website for more information.
Foster4 host virtual and in-person information sessions in Wirral. They provide a great opportunity to meet the team and ask any questions you may have.
Thank you to everyone who helped to organise the event and to all the staff working behind-the scenes. Lots of fun was had by all!
