The next few months are a crucial period in Wirral’s regeneration programme as a series of consultations on schemes to revitalise areas of the borough open up.
Wirral Council has been invited to pilot a simplified approach to funding delivery by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC).
Proposals suggest continuing the existing Selective Licensing scheme in two areas and introducing licensing for private sector landlords in two further areas from 2024 until 2029 are now being consulted on.
New projects to boost Wirral’s high streets and improve the environment are among those projects getting underway thanks to a major grant to support local communities.
Summer 2023 is set to be a pivotal moment in Wirral’s hugely ambitious regeneration programme and the next few months will give the people of the borough a unique chance to have their say on the next steps.
