A Priority Action Plan has been published, to drive improvements for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in Wirral.

The SEND Improvement Notice, issued by the Minister for Children, Families and Wellbeing, to Wirral Council in May 2024, has today been replaced with an updated version.

Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) from schools across Wirral recently came together with local Family Hub teams for a powerful day of connection, collaboration and change, all with the purpose of improving support for children and families.

Community events provide a welcoming environment for families to connect with others who are passionate about supporting breastfeeding.

The swings can accommodate up to 250kg and fit most large wheelchairs.

Foster families gathered at Birkenhead Park for a fun-packed afternoon of games and activities – with a visit from a musical guest and a furry friend!

Families across Wirral are set to benefit from an additional year of support as the government confirms a funding extension for the Families First for Children (FFC) Pathfinder.

The project is based around the support and relationships gained from an extended family.
