Led by Grove Street Primary, schools have been learning about the importance of having clean air for better and healthier communities.

The Mayor of Wirral joined pupils from across the borough, and partners including Asthma Lung UK, Living Streets, Alder Hey and LJMU, at Eureka! Science + Discovery as they talked about their findings for improving air quality.

Learning about asthma and reducing Co2 emissions, the children took part in a number of workshops and listened to talks from the various partners in attendance.

Despite Wirral's air quality being generally good, there are still ways that this can be better. Simple changes like avoiding engine idling and using more active travel or public transport can help improve our local air quality.

Find out what we are doing as a council to improve air quality, by listening to our lead air quality officer, Jen McKeown, in the video below.
