There are no changes to bin collections over upcoming August bank holiday weekend.

Collections scheduled for Monday 28 August will go ahead as normal. Please have your bin out for collection by 7am on your normal collection day.

If you are unsure of your collection day, please check online.

If we get the weather for it and you are using the weekend to enjoy a BBQ, remember not to place it in your green wheelie bin until it has fully cooled down, or if you are gardening and subscribed to brown garden waste collection service, check what items can go into your brown bin.

Using the longer weekend to do a sort out ahead of autumn? You may want to donate, swap or sell any items that are in good condition.

If your items aren’t in good condition, Wirral’s Household Waste Recycling Centres (the tips) are still open for their summer hours, from 8am until 8pm, until the end of September.

The centres are located at:

  • Bidston – Wallasey Bridge Road, Birkenhead – CH41 1EB
  • Clatterbridge – Mount Road, Clatterbridge – CH63 4JZ
  • West Kirby – Greenbank Road – CH48 5HR

There is a system in place for those who wish to visit in a van or with a large trailer. Bookings can be made through Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority.
