Summer Festival hits Liscard’s streets this Saturday

Get yourself down to Liscard town centre this Saturday 13th July between 11am and 5pm for a day of music, delicious food and family activities at the Liscard Summer Festival. 

There will be community stalls along Liscard Way, as well as live music throughout the day showcasing some of our best local talent. There will also be a local photography exhibition, looking at Liscard through the years. Free parking is also available all day at the Cherry Tree Centre car park.

On top of that, there are plenty of FREE activities for children and young people, with facepainting and glitter tattoos, arts and crafts and fairground games.

If you work up an appetite, Nazma Miah from Elachi Indian Restaurant will be providing delicious street food and there will also be specialist coffee and an ice-cream van. 

Merseyside Police will be bringing their Mobile Police Station and police horses and will be offering free bike marking. HYPE Urban Bikes will be carrying out bike maintenance checks.

The Mayor and Mayoress will be opening the event at 11am and will be followed by a performance by Liscard Community Choir.

Cllr Tony Jones, chair of Wirral Council’s Economy, Regeneration and Housing Committee, said: “Liscard Summer Festival is a great initiative, encouraging local people to support one of our busiest shopping streets. There will be lots going on throughout the day so if you live local, I’d encourage you to come along and show your support”.

Liscard Summer Festival has been organised by the Liscard Together Partnership, a group made up of local businesses, community groups and the council, working together to help transform Liscard.

David Millar, Chair of the Partnership, said: "We’re very proud to have played our part in bringing the Summer Festival to Liscard. It’s part of a wide and diverse range of events, improvements and changes we hope you’ll appreciate over the coming months and years. 

"Our aim is to help bring together the whole community to give you a greatly improved Liscard you’ll love shopping in."
