Planning Applications: Proposed Changes to Local Validation Checklist
Changes are being put forward by Wirral Council requiring additional information for some types of planning application. These changes are required due to the new Local Plan which has broader and more detailed planning policy requirements.
When a planning application is submitted it must be accompanied by information to support, explain and justify the proposed development. The information that Wirral Council requires to be submitted with planning applications is set out in its Local Validation Checklist.
It is a statutory requirement that the Council undertakes a public consultation on any significant changes to its Local Validation Checklist.
Initial consultation on the proposed changes to the Local Validation Checklist took place in early 2024, closing March 10. All comments received were reviewed and individually responded to and the feedback was considered and the new checklist was approved.
This second phase of the consultation will run until midnight on Sunday 4 May.
If you would like to provide feedback on the proposed changes to the checklist you can contact the Planning department using the contact details set out in the ‘Contact Us’ section of this page.
Following the consultation period all responses received will be reviewed before a decision is made on the new Checklist.
