Wirral Council is contributing toward Moreton in Bloom's Big Summer Social event, which will raise funds to support their community projects
Five cultural and community-led events are set to benefit from nearly £15,000 of Wirral Council funding to support creativity, connection, and neighbourhood celebrations across the borough.

The funding contributions totalling £14,966 will provide support towards each project’s overall costs enabling some new events to launch, as well as allowing existing ones to become bigger and better this year.

The projects receiving contributions are:

•    Independents Biennial at the Williamson Art Gallery (£4,000)
•    Latin American Culture Day at Future Yard (£2,000)
•    Moreton in Bloom  Big Summer Social (£2,000)
•    New Brighton Farmers Markets (£2,666)
•    Wirral Pride 2025 (£4,300)

The Chair of Wirral Council’s Economy, Regeneration and Housing Committee, Councillor Mark Skillicorn, said:

These are exactly the kind of initiatives our culture budget is designed to support, being local, inclusive, and community driven - whether it’s showcasing contemporary art in Oxton, celebrating Latin music in Birkenhead, animating the wonderful Victoria Quarter in New Brighton, recognising the efforts of volunteers in Moreton, or bringing the whole community together to celebrate LGBTQ+ culture – these events reflect the vibrancy and strength of Wirral’s communities.

New Brighton Farmers Markets
Seed funding for this local food and craft market will help stimulate the area’s visitor economy and support lots of small independent traders.
