The final curtain has fallen on The Further Adventures of Peter Pan: The Return of Captain Hook and the theatre has revealed that the show took more at the box office than any other in the Floral Pavilion’s long history.

The four-week run (from 6 December to 5 January) saw almost 30,000 attend the show, generating record-breaking ticket sales.

Venue manager at the Floral Pavilion, Pauline Campbell, said:

From the moment the curtain went up we knew it was a really special production, and audiences and critics clearly agreed. In our survey of all bookers, they gave it an average rating of 4.9 out of a possible 5 stars, with one person saying it was the ‘Best Panto in Years’, which was pretty typical feedback.

Media reviews and social media comments also lavished praise, which definitely helped to make it the most successful show since the venue opened in 1913.

Now that Peter Pan has returned to Neverland, we are already looking forward to bringing the magic of Sleeping Beauty to the theatre next Christmas, which we guarantee will be another top-class traditional pantomime for the whole family to enjoy – it’s going to be wonderfully wicked!

The Further Adventures of Peter Pan – The Return of Captain Hook was produced by Martin Dodd for UK Productions Ltd, in association with the Floral Pavilion Theatre.

Martin Dodd, said:

We are delighted to have delivered another fantastic pantomime at the Floral Pavilion that has once more thoroughly entertained thousands of people. Our talented cast, crew, and creatives always deliver a stellar performance show after show, and this year was no different. Working with the staff at the Floral is always a pleasure and the resulting production is totally a team effort.

Hundreds of Panto programmes were bought by audience members keen to read about the actors behind their favourite show characters and to save as a memento of their festive trip to the theatre.

In keeping with a decades-long tradition, a copy of the Peter Pan programme has now been safely deposited in Wirral Archives for future generations to learn how the annual Panto looked in 2024. You can read more about Wirral Archives’ historic collection of pantomime programmes and other memorabilia on the Wirral View website

Work has already begun on bringing Sleeping Beauty to life next Christmas, with planning, scheduling, producing, casting, script development and set design all well underway.

Early birds keen to get the best seats at peak shows, or wanting to grab a bargain £15 ticket, have already bought or reserved thousands of tickets for the show, so hopes are high that the theatre and audiences can look forward to another record-breaking magical production next Christmas.

Sleeping Beauty will run from 6 December to 4 January 2026. For more information and to book seats visit the Floral Pavilion website
