Share your views to help shape SEND services in Wirral
Parents, carers and young people across Wirral are being invited to take part in a new Annual SEND Survey, designed to help improve services for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) across the borough.
The survey has been developed by Wirral’s Local Area Partnership, which brings together education, health and care organisations working with children and young people locally. It gives families and young people the chance to share their experiences of SEND — highlighting what’s working well and where improvements are needed.
The feedback gathered will play a vital role in shaping improvements to SEND services, and will help show whether changes being made locally are being felt by families and highlight where further work is needed.
There are two surveys – one for parents and carers, and one designed specifically for children and young people with SEND. Both have been coproduced with parents, carers, children and young people, ensuring the questions focus on what really matters to those using services.
Councillor Stephen Bennett, Chair of the Children, Young People and Education Committee, said:
We know that families of children and young people with SEND want to see real, meaningful improvements. This survey is a vital way for parents, carers and young people themselves to tell us honestly what is working and where we need to do better.
Your feedback will help shape the future direction of SEND services in Wirral, so I would strongly encourage everyone to take part and make their voice heard.
All responses will be analysed and published on the SENDLO website, ensuring openness and transparency. The findings will be shared with the organisations that plan and deliver SEND services across education, health and social care, helping them better understand families’ day‑to‑day experiences and what needs to change.
