Shine a light on an unsung hero – Nominate them for a Wirral Award!
Do you know someone who goes above and beyond for their community? Then now’s your chance to celebrate them!
Nominations are now open for the Wirral Award 2025, a prestigious civic honour that recognises outstanding achievements over the past year, or for exceptional service to the borough spanning two decades or more.
Whether it’s a tireless volunteer, a community champion, or a group making a real difference – we want to hear about them.
While individual nominations are preferred, groups and organisations will also be considered. Previous winners have included:
- Long-standing foster carers
- Sports and youth group leaders
- RNLI volunteers
And many more everyday heroes who give their time and energy to help others.
The Mayor of Wirral, Councillor Brian Kenny, said:
Across Wirral, volunteers and community groups are the heartbeat of our borough. Their passion and commitment touch so many lives and life here simply wouldn’t be the same without them.
I’m proud to help shine a spotlight on their incredible work and say a heartfelt thank you on behalf of the Council and our residents.
All nominations will be reviewed by a small panel including the Mayor and fellow Councillors, with final approval by the Council’s Regulatory and General Purposes Committee.
