5 things to do in West Kirby this Bank Holiday weekend

1. Take a stroll around the Marine Lake
OK, we know it’s obvious, but no sunny day in West Kirby is complete without a walk around the Marine Lake. Watch the paddleboarders and kayakers do their thing while you enjoy the gorgeous views over to the Welsh hills...and if you’re lucky, you might catch one of the spectacular sunsets that the town’s big skies are famed for!
2. West Kirby Farmers’ Market
The Farmers’ Market returns to St Andrew’s Church hall and carpark on Saturday 23 August (9am-12noon) with more than 20 local producers who grow, rear, cook, ferment, make and bake the best quality, freshest and most interesting local produce. Now in its 12th year, West Kirby Farmers Market is unmissable for any fresh food lovers.
3. Fabulous Food & Drink
Nothing beats a leisurely meal on a sunny Bank Holiday weekend, and West Kirby is bursting with options. There are far too many to mention them all, but some summertime favourites include the Terrace at Seafood Shack, famous fish & chips from Marigolds, the gardens at Hickory’s Smokehouse, Iberian flavours at BOBO and brunch with a view at Tanskey’s.
4. Wirral Youth Market
Wirral Youth Market is heading to the Concourse plaza on Saturday 23 August (10am – 4pm), offering a colourful shopping experience and a chance to support a new generation of entrepreneurs, artists and performers. With around 40 young traders, live music all day, artisan food & drinks, and FREE activities for the little ones, it promises to be an inspiring way to spend a few hours.
5. Picnic in the Park
You’ll be spoilt for choice if you’re looking for great green spaces. Ashton Park, Coronation Gardens, Cubbin’s Green and Wirral Country Park are all Green Flag award winners – the international quality mark for parks – so grab a picnic and make the most of some of the country’s finest walks, grasslands and cycle paths.
