Children at West Kirby Marine Lake

If you’re a Wirral resident who loves watersports activities, look no further than Wirral Watersports Centre. With activities ranging from windsurfing, kayaking and paddle-boarding, to sailing and powerboating on offer, locals can enjoy a summer of oar-some activities – right on their doorstep!

Thanks to uninterrupted winds from across the Dee Estuary, West Kirby Marine Lake is considered the region’s premier location for wing foiling, windsurfing and dinghy sailing. On calmer days the lake is perfect for paddleboarding and canoeing.

Something for (almost) everyone…

People of all ages and levels of experience can enjoy all of the thrills (and spills!) West Kirby Marine Lake has to offer, whether you are an absolute beginner, honing your skills with a certified instructor or more experienced on the water.

‘Splash sessions’ for children aged 4 to 8 (£18 - £22 for 90 minutes) are a great way for little ones to gain confidence on the water. Each session will typically include sailing with an instructor, a powerboat ride, paddleboards in shallow water... and of course lots of splashing!

8-16 years olds can try their hands at sailing, kayaking, powerboating, paddleboarding, raft building and watersports games at the popular Multi-Activity sessions. They can choose five half or full days for £150/£275 for an exciting introduction to the waves.

I gave the multi-activity sessions a go and loved it. I made lots of new friends and was able to try kayaking and paddle-boarding too, which was loads of fun.
