To mark Earth Day, the council’s leisure services Active Wirral have partnered with Energise Cycles and Trash Free Trails to hold a trail clean on Saturday 27 April.

The trail clean will be a walk, litter pick and litter count all in one.

Held at 11am to 2pm, the session will start at the Banks Road car park in Lower Heswall near the Yot Café and will head along the Wirral Way. At Wirral Country Park Visitor’s Centre, the trail will loop back along the bridle way to the Banks Road car park to complete the loop.

To take part in the event, let us know if you plan to attend by joining the guestlist.

About Trash Free Trails

The Trash Free Trails’ Spring Clean campaign, now in its fifth year, has seen the removal of over 60,000 individual items of Single-Use Pollution from public green space and trails.

In 2023 alone Earth Day Spring Clean events across the UK removed over 50% of that amount.

The removal of litter, or to use their terminology ‘Single-Use Pollution’, has been the heart of the Trash Free Trails mission since its inception in 2017.
