A magical sensory adventure coming to the Floral Pavilion

03 February 2026
A performer in woodland costume stretches an arm upward beneath the wide branches of an ancient oak tree, while two other performers stand nearby, one holding a cello. The group is surrounded by dense green foliage and dappled sunlight in a forest setting.

The New Brighton theatre is set to host an immersive show for residents with learning disabilities, offering a unique musical and sensory extravaganza.

Award-winning theatre company, Frozen Light, is bringing its multi-sensory theatre experience to the Floral Pavillion in March. The Ancient Oak of Baldor is an engaging and interactive show designed for people with profound and multiple learning disabilities, making the arts accessible to those that often miss out.

Come on a journey with us to the Forest of Baldor, in the land of Earten. You’ll meet the ancient oak at the heart of the forest and discover Elspeth’s story – a tale of love, loss and how all things are connected.

There is no expectation for the audience to sit still at this show. In fact, getting up to dance, join in with the singing or just walk around the set is positively encouraged. You can do what feels comfortable for you.

The show will run at the Floral Pavilion Theatre from Wednesday 18 to Friday 20 March 2026, with performances taking place at 11am and 13.30pm in the theatre’s Blue Lounge. Each performance lasts for 60 minutes.

The ticket price of £12 includes admission for two carers.
