Join one of the last community tree planting events – 29 February and 9 March
As we approach March and the end of the planting season, there are just a couple of opportunities left to plant a tree at one of the community tree planting sessions – don’t miss out!
The council has an ambitious target to double Wirral’s tree canopy by 2030 to help limit the impacts of climate change, support biodiversity, and enhance the areas where we live.
Residents can volunteer to help meet this target and help give back to our local environment.
Having held five different planting events so far, there are just two community planting days left to get involved with before the end of March.
To attend the orchard planting at Kempson Terrace on Thursday 29 February, register your place.
Or if you would prefer to join in with the orchard planting at Heygarth Road Greenspace on Saturday 9 March, you can reserve your spot.
For residents that are interested to know more about trees, whether that’s about how we look after them, if you want to help support our new trees, learn through sessions and workshops or help to collect seeds, the council also co-ordinate a Wirral Tree Network group. Find out more information and join the network by visiting the council’s website or emailing wirraltreewardens@wirral.gov.uk.
