‘Love your leftover’ workshops are available as the council team up with local business, Stripe and Spot, so residents can discover tips and tricks on how to make your food go further.

Always end up buying too much food? Or wondering what to do with the leftovers? These workshops may be just the thing for you.

According to WRAP in the UK 70% of food waste comes from households, equivalent to a value of over £14 billion a year and 20 million tonnes of greenhouse gas so by making changes you are not just making your food go further and saving money, but also helping to make your local area better.

The sessions will cover:

  • how to use food leftovers
  • how to grow more vegetables from your scraps
  • a food demonstration on making meals from foods you often have leftover in your fridge

Tasters will be provided for attendees and recipe cards for you to take away and recreate at home.
