City Nature Challenge training

On your marks... The City Nature Challenge training programme is kicking off a whole year of exciting, hands-on nature activities in Wirral.

Last week, community organisations and partners from across Wirral gathered at Birkenhead Park for training with Merseyside Biobank to learn how to run sessions and collect valuable nature data.

People from the Wirral Environment Network, Wirral Wildlife Trust, Prenton Dell Play Pits, Countryside volunteers, Friends of Dibbinsdale, Rangers from Birkenhead Park, Eco Schools, Wirral’s Climate Emergency Team and the Chair of the Environment, Climate Emergency and Transport Committee were all represented at the training.

This sessions marks the start of ‘Wild about Nature’, a year-long programme of seasonal events designed to help people across Wirral connect with and protect nature in our local area.

All events for spring are now open for booking. Whether you want to get involved in the City Nature Challenge between 25 and 28 April, you want to try your hand at making and planting up newspaper seed pots (12 April), or even discover the different pollinating insects at New Ferry Butterfly Park (28 May), there's something for everyone.
