Happy hedgehogs thanks to Wirral Schools

Congratulations to Gayton Primary School - just one of the 25 Wirral schools that have received a special award for their efforts in making their school grounds a better and safer place for hedgehogs!

Pupils and teachers at some of Wirral’s schools have been building hedgehog homes, creating hedgehog highways and learning all about our spiky friends to make sure that they can look after them and make sure hedgehogs feel welcome in the school grounds as well. 

This initiative is part of the Hedgehog Friendly Campus award scheme, partly funded by the British Hedgehog Preservation Society, which aims to protect these little creatures, improve their habitat, and spread awareness.
