HAF a holly jolly Christmas: Holiday activity bookings open!
With the festive season just around the corner, parents and carers are being encouraged to book their child’s space at Active Wirral’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme!
Active Wirral’s HAF programme provides a friendly, safe and enjoyable environment for children and young people ages 8-15 years who receive benefits-related free school meals. Youngsters can take part in a wide variety of sports including tennis, badminton, dance, multi sports and Active Tag.
The FREE Christmas HAF club will run at Bidston Sports and Activity Centre on the following dates:
- Monday 22 December
- Tuesday 23 December
- Monday 29 December
- Tuesday 30 December
Our Winter HAF programme is the perfect way to keep young people active during the festive break, with plenty of activities to try out and new friends to make – and Christmas cheer to spread!
With a free lunch provided, parents and carers can drop their youngsters off safe in the knowledge they’ll be well fed and entertained by home time.
The Holiday Activity Fund Programme provides free meals and activities to Wirral children in conjunction with Edsential and Wirral Borough Council and associated groups.
Throughout the programme, supportive and professional coaches will be on hand to ensure each day is filled with fun and that every child can enjoy being active and meeting new friends.

Parents and carers are encouraged to check if their child is eligible for free school meals as it could enable them to take part in future holiday programmes and unlock a range of other support. More information about free school meals is posted on the Wirral Council website.
