Families with little ones can enjoy a month of family friendly community events to support and celebrate breastfeeding throughout Wirral – many of which will be held in some of the borough’s family hubs.

Coordinated by Wirral Community Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust’s (WCHC) Infant Feeding Team, the events will highlight the health benefits of breastfeeding and encourage a wider network of support - from partners and grandparents to friends and community members.

Run in partnership with local charity Koala North West, a series of Breastfeeding Get Togethers and a Teddy Bears’ Picnic, invite families to come together, learn more about breastfeeding, and connect with others on the same journey.

Koala NW provide support for families with children aged 0-11. They offer a range of services including early years, breastfeeding peer support, SEND services, family support, and sleep support.

They are commissioned to provide breastfeeding support by Wirral Council's Public Health team.

The community events provide a welcoming environment for families to access free fun activities, information and support, helpful resources and a chance to connect with others who are passionate about supporting breastfeeding.
