Bookings now open from Active Wirral’s HAF programme!
Calling parents: The school summer holidays will be here before you know it. Why not get ahead of the game and register your child for a free place at Active Wirral’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme?
Active Wirral’s HAF programme provides a friendly, safe and enjoyable environment for children and young people ages 8-15years. Youngsters can take part in a wide variety of sports including tennis, badminton, hockey, cricket, football, basketball, dance, art activities and Active Tag.
Along with the activities, all those taking part will also receive a nutritious meal each day, which has been funded through Wirral’s Household Support Fund from the Department for Work and Pensions.
Cllr Ann Ainsworth, Vice-Chair of Tourism, Communities, Culture and Leisure Committee for Wirral Council, said: “Our summer HAF programme is the perfect way to keep young people active during the summer break, with plenty of activities to try out and new friends to make.
“With a free lunch provided, parents can get on with their day knowing their child is getting good food, good entertainment and is hopefully tired out ready for bedtime.”
Throughout the programme, supportive and professional coaches will be on hand to ensure each day is filled with fun and that every child can enjoy being active and meeting new friends.
Places are available for children and young people aged 8 to 15 who are eligible for free school meals.
The programme takes place at Bidston Sports & Activity Centre and runs from 10am – 2pm on the following dates:
- Week 1 - Monday 28 July to Thursday 31 August
- Week 2 – Monday 4 to Thursday 7 August
- Week 3 - Monday 11 to Thursday 14 August
- Week 4 - Monday 18 to Thursday 21 August
