A planning application to create a new health, fitness and wellness club at one of the country’s largest regeneration projects has been submitted, Wirral Council can confirm.
The regeneration of Liscard is about to take a major step forward, as contractors start on site next week to knock down the former municipal building at Seaview Road, making way for affordable housing.
People are being asked to give their views on proposals for the Hamilton Square Conservation Area Regeneration Plan and the proposed extension of the Conservation Area boundary.
The final round of consultation is now underway on Traffic Regulation Orders to support changes to roads and public spaces around Argyle Street, Hamilton Square and Woodside to improve accessibility and better connect Birkenhead Town Centre with the waterfront.
£18,000 of public realm improvements have now been completed in Liscard, with the arrival of new planters, benches and bins to help make the town centre a nicer place to be for those living and working in the area.
A culmination of more than six years work, the new Local Plan is the now the official policy for development across the borough for the next 15 years up until 2040.
