As part of one of the finishing touches to the West Kirby flood wall scheme, the path that runs around the outside of the Marine Lake will need to be closed for two days this week.

This is to allow for the installation of the new way markers on the path which, when completed, will provide a measured, circular walking route around the perimeter of the lake. Way markers have already been laid on the promenade as part of the construction of the flood wall.

The path will be closed on Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th August.

Also this week – and reflective of the fact that only small pieces of work are outstanding on the flood wall scheme – residents and visitors will start to see the Volkerstevin works compound, which has been occupying the public car park on Dee Lane for the duration of the project, being further demobilised.

Removal of some of the larger units will, however, require the car park to be closed to the public on Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th August. It will be partially open again after Thursday and the car park should be fully open to the public again in time for the August bank holiday.
