Up to £650,000 of Small Grants Programme funding is available for frontline groups in Wirral who can help residents who are struggling to afford food and other essential items.

Wirral Council’s Leader, Cllr Paul Stuart, said:

Wirral’s community, voluntary and faith sector organisations play a huge role in supporting some of the most vulnerable residents in our borough. They stepped-up magnificently at the start of the COVID emergency and have continued their vital work through the cost of living crisis.

The Small Grants Programme allows us to support the work of these incredible local groups, tap-into their local knowledge and ensure that help is available on the ground, and where it is needed most.

The Leader of Wirral Council, Cllr Paul Stuart

The Small Grants Programme is part of a of £6.01 million package of support funded through Round 4 of the Government’s Household Support Fund, which runs until the end of March 2024.

The deadline for community organisations to apply is 12pm Monday 13th November 2023 and successful projects will have until 15 March 2024 to spend all of the grant funding they receive. Grant recipients will also be subject to the established audit requirements (submission of receipts, etc.), as with the monitoring of previous rounds of the Small Grants Programme.
