New board brings together partners to support Wirral's future
Senior leaders from across the public, private, education and development sectors have come together for the first meeting of Wirral's new Place Partnership Board.
The board, established by Wirral Council, met for the first time on Tuesday 22 September and will provide strategic oversight, advice and challenge on regeneration activity and place-based priorities across the borough.
The partnership brings together representatives from organisations including Homes England, the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, Wirral Metropolitan College, housing providers, businesses, developers and other key stakeholders, alongside council representatives.
Operating in an advisory capacity, the board will provide a forum for partners to share expertise, consider emerging opportunities and help ensure regeneration activity is aligned around shared priorities for Wirral's communities, economy and places.
Councillor Paula Basnett, Leader of Wirral Council and Chair of the Place Partnership Board, said:
Regeneration is about much more than buildings and infrastructure. It's about creating opportunities for people, supporting thriving communities and ensuring that every part of Wirral can realise its potential.
The Place Partnership Board brings together a wealth of experience, knowledge and expertise from across a range of sectors and organisations that all have an important role to play in Wirral's future.
By working together, we can strengthen the partnerships needed to attract investment, support growth and ensure regeneration delivers tangible change for residents, businesses and communities across the borough.
I am pleased to have welcomed members to the board's first meeting and look forward to working closely with partners as we continue to shape Wirral's long-term future.
The Place Partnership Board will meet quarterly and provide independent advice and strategic oversight to support the delivery of regeneration priorities across the borough.
