New Jump Start event to help Wirral businesses grow
Entrepreneurs, startups and small businesses from across Wirral are being invited to a free event in Birkenhead designed to provide practical advice, expert support and valuable business connections.
The latest Jump Start event, organised by Start-Yard, takes place on Thursday 29 October and will bring together entrepreneurs, business specialists, Barclays Eagle Labs and The King's Trust for an afternoon of insights, networking and support.
Based in Birkenhead, Start-Yard is a business hub and workspace supporting start ups, entrepreneurs and growing businesses across Wirral and the wider Liverpool City Region.
Jump Start has been created to help people at every stage of their business journey, from those considering self-employment through to established businesses looking to grow. While it has a particular focus on businesses in the creative, digital and technology sectors, entrepreneurs and small businesses from all sectors are welcome to attend.
Attendees will hear from business support organisations, take part in practical sessions covering finance, accountancy, marketing and digital communications, learn where to access support and advice, and hear first-hand from entrepreneurs sharing their experiences of starting and growing a business.

Small businesses play an important role in Wirral's economy, creating jobs and contributing to the vitality of our town centres and communities.
"Events like Jump Start give entrepreneurs and business owners the opportunity to access practical advice, make useful connections and hear from others who have experience of starting and growing a business.
"It's encouraging to see partners including Barclays Eagle Labs and The King's Trust working alongside local organisations to offer this support, and I would encourage anyone interested in developing a business idea or growing an existing business to get involved.
The event will open with an overview from Barclays Eagle Labs on the support available to entrepreneurs and growing businesses, followed by a session from The King's Trust focusing on opportunities for young people aged 18 to 30 who are considering starting their own business.
Practical workshops will then cover topics including managing cashflow, tax and business finances, as well as marketing, social media and digital tools to help businesses reach new customers.
The afternoon will conclude with a panel discussion featuring local entrepreneurs sharing honest reflections on the challenges and successes they have experienced while building their businesses.
Starting a business takes an idea, but keeping one going takes something more.
"There are plenty of events that celebrate successful entrepreneurs. With Jump Start we also want to talk about what happens in between, when things don't go to plan, when cashflow is difficult, when you're trying to find customers or when you simply don't know who to ask for help.
"If somebody leaves with a useful contact, a piece of advice they can actually use or simply a little more confidence about what to do next, then we've achieved something.
As well as hosting events, Start-Yard is exploring plans for a regular programme of support sessions, bringing together organisations and specialists who can offer one-to-one guidance on areas including business planning, finance, marketing and legal advice.
