30 Days 30 Ways Encourages Residents to Be Ready for Emergencies
Throughout September 2026, Wirral is once again supporting the national 30 Days 30 Ways UK campaign, helping residents prepare for emergencies and unexpected situations through simple, practical actions.
The month-long campaign sees organisations across the country share daily tips, advice and resources designed to help people become more resilient and better prepared for a range of emergencies, from flooding and severe weather to power outages, travel disruption and household incidents.
The campaign encourages everyone to take small steps that can make a big difference when things don't go to plan. Topics throughout the month include emergency planning, community resilience, personal safety, staying informed during emergencies and supporting vulnerable family members, friends and neighbours.
Being prepared doesn't mean expecting the worst. It means having a basic understanding of what to do, where to find reliable information and how to respond if an emergency affects your area.
In most emergencies where evacuation is not required, the advice remains simple: go in, stay in and tune in. This means going indoors, remaining there until advised otherwise and keeping up to date with information from trusted sources, including local radio, emergency services and local authorities.
Residents can follow campaign updates and daily preparedness tips throughout September using the hashtag #30Days30WaysUK and by following Wirral Council's social media channels.
