A landmark office building at Wirral Waters has reached full occupancy as the final remaining office space has been successfully let.

Approval has been given to lease the last vacant office accommodation within The Hythe, a three-storey Grade A office building on Tower Road, to Aslan Labs Management Ltd. The agreement means the building is now fully occupied for the first time since its construction.

Constructed in 2020 by Peel using innovative low-carbon building techniques, The Hythe was designed as a catalyst for investment, enterprise and economic growth within the wider Wirral Waters regeneration programme.

Wirral Council acquired The Hythe in April 2025 as part of a wider agreement supporting the long-term regeneration ambitions for Wirral Waters. At the time of acquisition, the upper floors were fully let, with only the ground floor office space remaining vacant. The successful letting of this final unit means the entire building is now income-generating.

The Hythe reaching full occupancy is a significant milestone for both Wirral Council and Wirral Waters and demonstrates growing confidence in Birkenhead as a place to invest, innovate and do business.

Securing a tenant for the final vacant space means this high-quality building is now fully occupied and making its maximum contribution to the local economy.

This is exactly the type of progress we want to see across Wirral Waters. Every business that chooses to locate here helps bring investment, activity and opportunities to the area, supporting our wider regeneration ambitions."

Wirral Council leader, Cllr Paula Basnett
