Seminar will support safer travel for over 60s
Wirral Council’s Road Safety Team is staging a free community seminar aimed at helping residents aged 60 and over stay confident and safe on the roads.
The event takes place on Thursday 26 March at Heswall Hall and will bring together road safety professionals and leading experts to share practical advice, updated guidance, and useful resources for older road users — whether they drive, walk, cycle, or use public transport.
Organisers say the seminar will offer an engaging mix of presentations and informal Q&A opportunities, giving attendees the chance to learn directly from specialists and talk through any concerns or queries they might have about travelling safely as they get older.
The morning will open with a keynote address from Simon O’Brien, the Active Travel Commissioner for the Liverpool City Region, who will set the scene by discussing the importance of safe, sustainable, and accessible travel for all residents.
The session will run from 9:30am to 1pm at Heswall Hall, 111 Telegraph Road, Heswall, CH60 0AF.
Attendance is free, but booking is required. Residents can reserve a place via the Heswall Hall website. For more information, email Drive Safer For Longer.
