The Deputy Leader of Wirral Council has extended her congratulations to everyone in the borough who has been receiving their GCSE results today.

Cllr Julie McManus said:

Today is a big day—and I want to speak to you not just as Deputy Leader of the Council, but as someone who truly admires the strength and spirit you’ve shown.

Opening your GCSE results can bring a mix of emotions—excitement, nerves, pride, and sometimes disappointment. Whatever you're feeling right now, please know this: you’ve already achieved something remarkable. You’ve worked hard, faced challenges head-on, and shown resilience through times that haven’t always been easy.

Your results are important, but they don’t define you. What matters most is your character, your effort, and your dreams for the future. Whether today brings celebration or reflection, there are so many paths ahead—and every one of them holds opportunity.

We’re proud of you. As a community, we’re behind you. And as a Council, we’re committed to supporting you in whatever comes next—be it college, apprenticeships, training, or work.

Take a moment to be proud of yourself. You’ve earned it.
