Birkenhead to Liscard Active Travel project - accessibility themed workshop

People interested in the accessibility of walking, wheeling and cycling routes are invited to attend a workshop to share their thoughts on the plans for a route between Birkenhead and Liscard.

Based in Birkenhead on Thursday 30 November, the workshop will be an opportunity to sit and view the plans in more detail with a focus on specific elements of the design from an accessibility point of view.

Running from Chester Street, Birkenhead, connecting Hamilton Square station, Woodside Ferry, Wirral Waters, Seacombe Ferry Terminal, Eureka! Science and Discovery Museum and Liscard town centre, the proposed route is a significant regeneration project to help make it easier for people to get to work, school or the shops - or simply create a more pleasant environment for people to travel along an spend time in.

Improved pavements and crossing areas, more street furniture and seating and dedicated spaces to ride and park a bike (including tricycles and adapted bikes) are all ideas included within the proposals and this accessibility focused workshop is a chance to tell us what you think about them and to work with us to ensure that the final design is the best it can be to make it useful to everyone, however they travel.
