Youngsters flock to Bidston Sports and Activity Centre as it turns one

Since reopening in Autumn 2023 following a £2.7m revamp, Bidston Sports and Activity Centre has welcomed residents in their thousands to stay active in state-of-the-art facilities - with a brand-new high specification gym and free weights area, immersive cycling studio and two cafes on offer. 

But while the adults hit the free weights or hop on a spin bike it’s the site’s Active Zone that has captured the attention of Wirral’s youngsters. 

The Active Zone boasts a large multi-level soft play area catering to children aged seven and under alongside a state-of-the-art Tag Active area for over-eights. This is the only Tag Active experience of its kind in the North West. With an average of 1500 monthly visitors, the Active Zone is the place to be if you’re a young person looking to blow off some steam and it’s now more affordable than ever! 

Tag Active costs £10 per child per session, while prices for soft play range from £3 - £8 for children of different ages, with reduced prices midweek and during term time. Under 1’s go free. 

The Active Zone has also played host to children’s birthday parties, with packages designed for children to have fun while keeping active. 

Parties can be booked for a minimum of 10 and maximum of 20 children, with various packages for both the soft play and the Tag Active area. Packages also include a selection of food options.
