Say BOO to flu (and other illnesses) with vaccine catch ups in October

A small white bus with the words 'Living Well Service' printed on the side with a spooky effect laid over the whole image.

Wirral residents can catch up on their missed vaccinations in October and beyond, thanks to a roving health service.

Popping up in locations across the borough over the next few weeks, the Living Well Service will be offering COVID-19 and flu vaccinations to all eligible residents, as well as all routine vaccinations for both children and adults. The scheme also offers health checks and wider wellbeing guidance at the heart of communities.

The Living Well Service, which provides ‘drop in’ health clinics by bus, is built on the principles of bringing the right services to local communities and helping reduce barriers to accessing care.

Residents can access the Living Well bus at any of the following pop ups from 10.30am – 4pm on:

  • Friday 4th October - ASDA, Woodchurch Road, Woodchurch, CH49 5PD
  • Monday 7th October - ASDA, Seaview Rd, Wallasey CH45 4NZ
  • Tuesday 8th October - Wirral Multicultural Organisation, 111 Conway Street, Birkenhead CH41 4AF
  • Thursday 17th October - Wirral Change, St Laurence's School, St Laurence Drive, Birkenhead CH41 3JD (vaccinations and wellbeing conversations only)
  • Saturday 19th October - Birkenhead town centre (next to TK Maxx), St John Street, Birkenhead, CH41 6HY

  • Wednesday 23rd October - Wirral Multicultural Organisation, 111 Conway Street, Birkenhead CH41 4AF
  • Wednesday 30th October - Seacombe Family Hub, St Pauls Road, Seacombe, CH44 7AN

With no appointments necessary, the service’s clinical team will also offer physical health checks and mental health support, alongside vaccinations. Staff operating the bus can offer on-the-spot blood pressure and pulse checks, as well as checks for cholesterol levels, blood glucose and BMI. They can also refer people directly to talking therapies for mental health support.
