Don’t miss your chance to tell us where you would like Electric Vehicle Charging facilities in Wirral – survey closes on 6th February.

In Wirral, we have over 50 electric vehicle charging points on our streetlights, but we want to install more, to give more people the option to have electric or hybrid vehicles.

We have set a target, amongst other things within the Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Infrastructure Strategy, to provide 1,580 new standard or fast EV charge points across the borough by 2030.

With funding provided in full by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority (LCRCA), we want to make sure that any charging points that we install, are in the right place, especially for residents who don’t have a driveway or access to off-street parking.

Take part in the survey, to suggest locations where you’d like to see car charging facilities – the survey can be accessed on the councils Have Your Say website

All locations suggested will be subject to a site survey to see if it is a suitable place for electric charging.

Once the final locations have been chosen, there will be a further public consultation before the work to install the EV charge points starts in autumn 2025.

LCRCA have been awarded £9.6 million Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) grant funding to improve charging facilities across the city region, this funding is to be spent on electric vehicle infrastructure to support households without off street car parking.
