Wirral Council Election 2022

06 May 2022

Local elections have now taken place in Wirral for 2022.

Counting of votes took place at Wirral Tennis and Sports Centre in Bidston after polls closed on Thursday May 5.

In total 23 councillors were elected by voters. Following the election Labour continue to be the largest party and have 26 councillors and the Conservative 24 councillors. The Green Party now has nine councillors and the Liberal Democrats continue to have six councillors. There is one independent councillor.

This means the council remains in “no overall control” – no single party has a majority of the 66 council seats.

Full details of the results in individual wards can be found on the council website.
